Overland Ductile Iron Foul Pipework Replacement – Crimple Beck, North Yorkshire

Drainage

Indepth were tasked with the installation of a 300mm diameter foul ductile iron pipe set on galvanised steel piles driven at a depth of approximately 7metres into the ground beside Crimple Beck in the village of Spofforth, North Yorkshire.

The scheme was challenging due to the presence of Himalayan Balsam in the working area on the verge of flowering. Indepth carried out the removal of these plants following environmental guidelines.

The access to the site was by way of a farmers fields which needed to be protected. This was carried out using a mixture of wooden trackway for the heavy excavators, a piling rig used on site and a plastic trackway for all the vehicular access to the site and its welfare equipment.
